MADISON COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) -- Famous Joe's Pizzeria in Madison is pulling out all the stops to raise funds to benefit the family of wreck victim Jaden Coppens.

Coppens was killed in a wreck at the intersection of Bailey Cove Rd and Weatherly Rd in south Huntsville back in late May.

The surviving Coppens sister Jasmine is still recovering from the injuries she sustained. In addition to funeral costs not completely covered by insurance, the family is also in need of a pricey lift chair to help Jasmine Coppens to her second-floor bedroom.

"All the rooms are on the second floor," said Joe Carlucci, owner of Famous Joe's, "and they need to get a chair that can move up and down the railing in their home."

Carlucci says he spoke to Jaden's mother Andrea Coppens a few weeks ago about holding the fundraiser.

"Probably the most inspiring 30 minutes I've ever spoken to anybody in my life, she has to be one of the strongest people I've ever met," says Carlucci.

The pizza purveyor set a lofty goal of raising $25,000 so he decided to raffle tickets for a 2001 Cadillac Coupe DeVille for $50 each, as well as raffle a pair of his Atlanta Falcons tickets. Those raffle sales as well as 50 percent of restaurant sale on July 10 will benefit the Coppens Family.

"I'm doing this for two reasons," Carlucci says, "One: as a human being, I love heeling people; and two: as a local, independent business owner I feel that personally it's our duty to give back."

Famous Joe's will extend their hours and stay open until 11 p. m. Wednesday with a balloon bounce, face painting for the kids and even live music.
