Grissom Principal to Retire After 47-Year Career

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Longstanding member of the Huntsville public school administration, Tom Drake, is set to retire after a 47 year career.

According to our news partners The Huntsville Times and, the school board approved the retirement of Drake on Tuesday evening.

Drake, who has been the principal of Grissom High School since 2000, has served as principal of Ed White Middle, Butler High, Challenger Middle and Johnson High.  He began his career with Huntsville in 1966.
