Florence Man Accused of Shooting Four People

FLORENCE, Ala. (WHNT) - A Lauderdale County man has been arrested after police say he pulled up to a large crowd of people that was gathered early Friday morning and started shooting.

According to Florence Police, Chauncey Mitchell,22, is charged with assault and shooting into an occupied vehicle.

Police say the shooting happened in an abandoned lot on west Mobile Street just after 3am.

Four people were transported from the scene to area hospitals, one remains in serious condition.

Investigators believe the shooting was the result of an argument that started in a club in Colbert County.
