(WHNT) – Big changes start in the forecast Wednesday, after a quiet evening tonight with low rain chances over north Alabama.

Heavy rain is likely later this week as moisture moves in from the south. Flood watches could be posted for portions of the Tennessee Valley including the 4th of July. If you are heading to any of the displays this week, take your rain gear. You can find a list of the all the Independence Day festivities by clicking here It will likely rain everywhere on Thursday! There is still a question on how much for some. East Alabama has the best chance of flooding rain though we can’t rule it out area wide through Friday.
