(WHNT) - Sunday marks the 4th anniversary of an American's capture in Afghanistan.

U.S. Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl is the only known American Soldier being held as a Prisoner of War in Afghanistan.  Recently, the Taliban offered to release Bergdahl in exchange for five members of the radical group being held at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

Earlier this month, Bergdahl's family received a letter from the captured soldier.  They said it was very scripted, but left no doubt their son was alive.

Four videos of the soldier have been released since his capture, but his exact whereabouts remain unclear.
