Update: Motorcyclist Killed in Sunday Wreck on Highway 72E

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — A wreck on Sunday night resulted in one motorcyclist losing his life.

Mavrin Jackson died early July 2nd, according to Huntsville Police Spokesman Harry Hobbs.

On Sunday night, Huntsville Police said while traveling west on Highway 72, a car in the left turn lane near Academy Drive turned right instead. The car crossed multiple lanes and passed directly in the path of the motorcycle.

The motorcyclist was transported to Huntsville Hospital by HEMSI with life-threatening injuries. He later died as a result of his injuries.

Toxicology tests on the driver are pending and charges could be filed against the driver based on the results of the charge, police said.
