AMITY, Oregon – A rare two-faced kitten was found alive earlier this week, but sadly, died Thursday.

Veterinarians initially said “Deucy” appeared to be healthy, with normal body functions.  It was rejected by its mother but a family in Oregon was caring for it.

According to The Oregonian, the kitten died Thursday from health complications.

A veterinarian said felines with this condition are called ‘Janus cats’, named after a Roman god with two faces.  They rarely make it to adulthood.
