MOBILE, Ala. – Bradley Byrne, a Mobile lawyer and former candidate for governor, says he will run for Congress.

This, according to a report by our news partner, al.com.

Byrne will seek the 1st Congressional District seat which is being vacated later by U.S. Rep. Jo Bonner (R-Mobile).

Byrne will make an official announcement on Tuesday afternoon, al.com reports.

Byrne, a Republican, is a former chancellor of Alabama’s two-year college system.
