Fort Payne Police Chief Randy Bynum said officers arrested Gary Williams for DUI around 3:30 a.m.

Bynum told WHNT News 19 a witness saw a black Dodge Charger hit a guardrail at Interstate 59 and Glenn Boulevard.  Police said the Charger continued north on Highway 35 toward Rainsville, and the witness followed until officers arrived, and they made a traffic stop after observing erratic driving.

Williams is an investigator for the DeKalb County District Attorney’s Office, which also serves Cherokee County, and has worked as the Child Support Investigator since 2003.
