Cadence Bank Warns Customers of Text Message Scam

TENNESSEE VALLEY, (WHNT) - Cadence Bank is warning its customers about a text message scam that could wipe out your bank account.

The text message was received by WHNT News 19 reporter Carson Clark.  It reads, "(Cadence Bank) Contact (855)414-****. Regarding Card 473141XXXXX."

Cadence Bank is warning its customers not to reply to this or any other text messages that claim their accounts are being suspended or cancelled.  It posted this alert message on its website.

The messages are part of a “phishing” scam aimed at gaining access to customers’ accounts.  The text message is also going to people who don't bank with Cadence.

Cadence Bank does not contact customers to request their personal or account information.

Customers that receive suspicious text messages may contact Cadence Customer Service at 800-636-7622 for assistance.

For your own protection, please NEVER RESPOND to automated messages – text, email or phone – from any financial institution.
