As this year's NFL draft class gets assigned uniform numbers and finalizes their contracts, it's worth taking a step back and looking at how often Alabama has been able to send one of its own to the pros.

This year, the Tide had nine players drafted, tying a modern record.  The NFL had condensed its Draft to seven rounds.  In the last five years, teams drafted 33 members of the Crimson Tide, including 14 in the first round.

While becoming a high pick is important to many players, Saban says there's something his guys should be more worried about.

"I think the bigger concern is what kind of career you're going to have," said Nick Saban, Alabama head coach.  "How you're going to prepare yourself and continue to work and figure out what kind of vision you're going to have as a player and have a good career."
