Click Picks: Yahoo! Unveils New App, Including ‘Summly’

Yahoo! subscribers – it’s here: the new Yahoo app, which includes technology from the app “Summly”.

Yahoo acquired ‘Summly’ for about $30 million recently.  Read about Yahoo’s new app and all it can do here. reports the new app came online Monday and it offers summaries of news stories it provides in a virtually endless newsfeed.

You might recall the Summly app got a lot of attention due to the fact it was created by 17-year-old Nick D’Aloisio and part of its technology was based on a licensing arrangement with the makers of Apple’s SIRI.

Yahoo’s new app is available only to users in the United States.

The search is said to be improved for video and images and you can drill down to different categories and select topics that interest you and flag those that you aren’t crazy about.

The app works well for your desktop computer, as well as your mobile phone.
