Panoply’s ‘Homegrown Talent Contest’ Auditions Announced

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Want some money you can keep to yourself? Can you sing, dance, play an instrument, recite a monologue, do comedy or perform any other way?

The Arts Council strongly suggests you audition for Panoply’s Homegrown Talent Contest.

Each year the Homegrown Talent Contest finds the best of the best in local talent, puts it onstage at Panoply and awards over $2,000 in cash!

The preliminaries are scheduled Saturday, April 13 and Sunday, April 14 at Bridge Street Town Centre. Registration begins at 11:30 am and auditions go from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Registration takes places on-site the day of the preliminaries. There is a $10 per entrant fee to participate.

Anyone with a family friendly talent is encouraged to audition. This is your chance to win cash and an opportunity to perform at Panoply!

Local music, theatre and dance professionals serve as the judges. Finalists are chosen from each preliminary round to compete on the Showcase Stage on Sunday at the festival.

Judging criteria includes stage presence, crowd response, time allotment, creativity and quality of performance. Participants must come prepared to perform their song, dance, comedy routine or skit for at least 90 seconds. All material must be G-rated and family friendly.
