HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Huntsville Police have arrested a third person in the murder of an 18-year-old on Brenda Street last month.

The third suspect is William Barrett Slade.  He is 30 years old.

Police spokesperson Harry Hobbs declined to release any information about what led investigators to arrest Slade, where he was taken into custody or any other details pertaining to his arrest, citing concern that releasing such information could jeopardize the case moving forward.

The following is background information of the murder investigation, including details of the other arrests made in the homicide from March 20, 2013, on Brenda Street.

The victim, Henry Woods, was found shot to death and lying on the ground near a home on Brenda Street on March 20, 2013.

Brian Andre McCrary, 35, and Jessie McCleney Greene, 34, are also charged in Woods’ murder.

“It’s just a relief to know they’re not getting away with it,” said Mary Balogun, Woods’ mother.

She says the arrests haven’t helped her understand what happened that day though.

“The officer told me their name this morning, and I didn’t recognize them, so I don’t know if he knew them or not,” said Balogun.
