ROME (WHNT) —  It’s a week of firsts for Pope Francis, as he adjusts to his papal duties.

Today is the new pope’s first Sunday as head of the Catholic church. Catholics from around the world gathered at the Vatican this morning to listen to Pope Francis’ first Sunday mass.

The new pope will be formally installed in a ceremony on Tuesday. Later this month, he will conduct his first Easter Sunday services as pope.
