(WHNT) – Many of you have called to ask about a smoky haze in Morgan and Lawrence counties. It’s apparently blown into southeast Madison County, too.  Many people report seeing it in south Huntsville and Hampton Cove as well.

The smoke is from a controlled burn in the Bankhead National Forest, according to the Hartselle Fire Department and the Alabama Forestry Service.

There was also a prescribed burn on Redstone Arsenal earlier today.
