Two People Arrested After Traffic Stop in Morgan County

MORGAN CITY, Ala. (WHNT)– Two people were arrested early Saturday morning after a traffic stop in Morgan City.

Sheriff Ana Franklin says Deputy Tyler Watson stopped a vehicle on Highway 231 for speeding.  According to Franklin, the car was driven by 26-year-old Christopher Rains and the passenger was 22-year-old Kristie Dean.

The Sheriff says inside the car the deputy found a plastic bag containing several small white round pills identified as morphine and also found several needles.   Franklin also says that Dean had pills identified as Dilaudid in her bra.

Agents arrested Raines on charges of unlawful possession of a controlled substance  and  Dean on unlawful possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.  Raines’ bond was set at $2,500 and  Dean’s bond was set at $2,800.
