Madison County Commission Youth Fishing Rodeo

NEW MARKET, Ala. (WHNT) – Children from ages 5 to 15 are invited to fish for fun and prizes at the 31st Annual Madison County Commission Fishing Rodeo at Sharon Johnston Park on Saturday, May 11.

Free to the public, participants will only need to bring a fishing pole or rod and reel.  The Commission will supply bait if fishers choose not to bring any.

Boys and girls from ages 5 to 10 will fish from 8:30 to 10 am while children from ages 11 to 15 fish from 10:30 to noon.  The Commission asks that fishers arrive 30 minutes prior to their starting times.

To get to Sharon Johnston Park from Huntsville, take Interstate 565/U.S. 72 east to Moores Mill Road, head north on Moores Mill to Winchester Road, go east on Winchester for 10 miles, then north onto Coleman Road. Take the third park gate on your left.
