ROGERSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — The Rogersville Volunteer Fire Department is asking for prayers and support after an incident injured one of their own.

Chief Frankie Phillips asked a post be published on the department’s Facebook page saying his firefighters responded to a fire call involving one of their fire engines after a fish fry Saturday night.

The truck caught fire, unrelated to the fish fry, and during the incident a fireman was injured and taken to the hospital. It’s reported that he dislocated his shoulder.

The chief says the tanker truck is now out of service.  The department says this will not affect their ability to respond to emergencies.
He asked people to pray for the volunteer fire department as they work through a difficult time.
