Jeffery Lynn Fair of Gadsden Arrested For Spitting in Officer's Face

Boaz, Ala. (WHTN) – Boaz Police arrested 47-year-old Jeffery Lynn Fair of Gadsden on Thursday for Disorderly Conduct and Aggravated Assault on a Police Officer.

He spit several times in the face of a Boaz officer and lunged towards other officers. Fair told police he had contagious and infectious diseases when he knowingly spit in the officer’s face.

Police got a search warrant to confirm any infectious disease readings on Fair. They confirmed that Fair has Hepatitis C.  Fair claimed to have HIV but investigators say they don’t believe he is HIV positive.

Fair was arrested for Aggravated Assault on a Police Officer and has a bond set at $15,000.

The officer was sent for medical assistance and will have to have followups over the next 12 months resulting from these actions.  The officer is back at work.
