Jacksonville, Ala. (WHNT) - Going into Saturday, Tanner was the only Tennessee Valley school to send both of its boys and girls basketball teams to the Final 48 in Birmingham.

Madison County became the second school.

Hannah Nichols nailed a 3/4 court shot at the buzzer en route to a 54-44 win over Cherokee County.  She finished with 32 points at a place where her father played football and helped his team to an undefeated season.

The boys had a tougher task against Guntersville, trailing by as many as six in the first quarter.  But the Tigers outscored the Wildcats by seven in the final frame, winning 62-48.
