Fourteen Meth Labs Found in Morgan County

MORGAN COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) — A drug arrest in Morgan County Friday night shut down multiple meth labs.

Deputies pulled over a car occupied by 50 year old Steven Howard Burks and 18 year old Chasity Suites. The traffic stop led deputies to discover an outstanding warrant for Steven Burks. Authorities say they found methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in the car.

Authorities say Burks told them he had a meth lab at his home. A search of the home on Matkin Cove Road uncovered 14 one-pot meth labs as well as materials used to cook meth.

Burks was decontaminated and arrested on 14 counts of manufacturing, one count of felony paraphernalia and one count of possession. He is being held at Morgan County jail on a $1,000,000 bond for manufacturing, and $5,000 for possession and .

Suites was also arrested on drug charges. She is in the Morgan County jail on a $7,800 bond.
