Fort Payne Man Charged With Rape

FORT PAYNE, Ala. (WHNT) – Police in Fort Payne have arrested a man who allegedly had sex with underage females.

Pablo Pedro Gomez, 23, was arrested after someone filed a complaint with Fort Payne’s school resource officer on Tuesday.  Police investigated the matter and interviewed victims at the DeKalb County Children’s Advocacy Center.

Gomez is charged with the following:

      • Six counts of first-degree rape
      • Nine counts of first-degree sodomy
      • One count of sexual abuse of a child under 12 years of age


Several agencies participated in the investigation, including the Fort Payne Police Department, Department of Human Resources, DeKalb County Children’s Advocacy Center and the DeKalb County District Attorney’s Office.

Gomez is currently in the DeKalb County Jail on $250,000 bond.
