Two Hurt In School Shooting In Southeast Atlanta

ATLANTA, Ga. (WGCL) – Atlanta Police are at the scene of a shooting at Price Middle School in southeast Atlanta where at least two people have been shot and one person is in custody. At least one person was taken to the hospital.

A spokesman with Atlanta Fire Rescue Department confirmed to WGCL that a 14-year-old student had been shot in the head and was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in downtown Atlanta.  This happened about 1:50 p.m. Thursday.

The second victim, a teacher, was treated at the scene for minor injuries. That teacher was not taken to the hospital.

Police did not release further details into what lead up to the shooting.

Price Middle School is located in the 1600 block of Benjamin Weldon Bickers. It is currently on lockdown.
