DECATUR, Ala. (WHNT) - Employees at the Eaton manufacturing plant in Decatur were told Tuesday morning the plant will be closed down this April and they will be without a job.

Eaton plant manager Jason Pickering confirmed the closing to WHNT News 19 Tuesday.

Pickering says this is a very tough time for the members of the organization. The plant, on Brooks Street, will begin winding down operations now and will close as early as April 2.

The plant employs 63 people.  Each will have a chance to apply with other locations within the Eaton corporation. Pickering says the Decatur plant manufactures hydraulic cylinders used for hydro power and in the oil and natural gas industry.
