NASA and Foursquare – a mobile application allowing you to check-in at various locations and earn virtual badges – have teamed up to help you unlock your scientific curiosity!

You can now unlock a Mars rover-themed Curiosity Explorer badge by liking NASA on Foursquare and checking in at a “NASA visitor center or venue categorized as a science museum or planetarium.”

Upon earning the badge, users will see a special message on Foursquare:

“Get out your rock-vaporizing laser! You’ve explored your scientific curiosities just like NASA’s Curiosity rover on Mars. Stay curious and keep exploring. You never know what you’ll find.”

Users of the Foursquare social media platform can also follow Curiosity’s journey as it checks-in at various locations across Mars, posting photos and science tips.
