HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Madison County democrats held a Presidential Inauguration party Friday evening.

The County’s Democratic Party gathered at historic Lowe Mill to celebrate the re-election of President Obama. Local democrats say the efforts of Huntsville Party members made a difference during November’s election.

“We had hundreds of hundreds of volunteers that worked here in Huntsville, they went down to Florida, they made phone calls. We had a tremendous effort here that we are very proud of,” said Clete Wetli, a member of the Madison County Democratic Party.

President Obama’s formal Inauguration will take place Monday in the nation’s capital.
