The fate of UAH's 34 year old hockey program hangs in the balance as Director of Athletics, Dr. E.J. Brophy fights for the Chargers. He and University President Dr. Robert Altenkirch will meet with other University Presidents in the WCHA in hopes of becoming the league's 10th member.

Dr. Brophy says he feels like UAH deserves the chance to be a part of one of the premier college hockey leagues in the nation. Head Coach Kurt Kleinendorst also feels like UAH is ready, and without league affiliation the program could be lost all together. A formal announcement is expected sometime Thursday or Friday.
