Huntsville, Ala. – The University of Alabama in Huntsville men’s basketball team slid to the ninth position in the latest NABC/Division II Coaches Top 25 Poll after suffering just its second – and first in Division II play – loss of the season on Saturday. The Chargers have been in the top 10 for 13 consecutive releases of the regular season poll.

West Liberty remains No. 1, but the team will likely fall next week as it lost Monday night after voting was conducted for this week’s poll. No. 2 Metro State is followed by Western Washington, while Kentucky Wesleyan and Indianapolis round out the top five.
Seattle Pacific holds the sixth position, and Cal Poly Pomona is in seventh. Ahead of the Chargers in eighth is Minnesota State, and Washburn completes the top 10.
There are no other Gulf South Conference schools in the rankings, but the South Region is represented by Florida Southern (No. 20), Saint Leo (No. 21), and Rollins (No. 25).
UAH will return to the court hoping to bounce back from the Saturday setback when it travels to Jackson, Tenn., to face Union.
