TUSCUMBIA, Ala. (WHNT) — A drive-in now looks more like a drive-thru after a truck plowed into the restaurant Wednesday morning.

It happened around 8:00 a.m. at Sparky’s Drive-In on Old Lee Highway.  One employee was in the building at the time.  When the truck hit the restaurant, some of the debris ended up trapping the worker inside the kitchen.  It took about 45 minutes to get him out, but he was not hurt.

The driver, a 41-year-old male, was injured and taken to a hospital.  He has since been released.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
