ATHENS, Ala. (WHNT) – Joel Moyers, 52, was booked into the Limestone County jail after his release at approximately 2 p.m. Thursday from a Cullman hospital. Moyers was indicted last Friday in a charge of capital murder for the September shooting death of 26-year old Brandon Hydrick.

Moyers learned of the indictment on the Internet and, according to Limestone County Sheriff Mike Blakely, took an overdose of pills. He was rushed to the Cullman Regional Medical Center where he has been undergoing treatment until this afternoon.

Moyers turned his face away from our camera as a lone deputy arrived at the jail with him. There was no opportunity to ask him any questions. He was driven into a secure room and removed from the patrol car to be booked into the jail.
