ELKMONT, Ala. (WHNT) – Limestone County authorities continue their investigation into a stabbing that occurred around 1:00 P.M. Friday afternoon at a home on Oak Grove Road near Elkmont.

Sheriff Mike Blakely says the original call was to a home invasion, but he says investigators learned upon their arrival that was not the case. He says Kevin Hargrove, a resident at the house, was beaten and stabbed in the leg during an apparent assault. Hargrove was transported to Huntsville Hospital for treatment.

Blakely says four people fled the scene before deputies arrived. They were later found hiding in a motel room at the Budget Inn in nearby Ardmore. He says the four were all charged with illegally manufacturing a controlled substance. They include:

  • Sandra Fox, 47, Oak Grove Rd., Elkmont,
  • Gary Fox, 27, Oak Grove Rd., Elkmont,
  • Ashley Batrum, 30, Harvest Rd.,
  • Jody Robertson, 30, of Toney.

Blakely says none of the four have been charged in connection with the assault. He says investigators have not yet been able to speak with the victim, Hargrove, who remains hospitalized. Gary Fox was also hospitalized with an apparent drug overdose, according to Sheriff Blakely.
