HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) -- A group of local teachers in North Alabama are getting some well-deserved national attention.

Four teachers from Huntsville High School have made the National Math and Science Initiative's Top Ten list.

Julie Culpepper and Nichole Schwartz were honored as Top 10 English Literature teachers.

Lula Mae Martin and Julie Williams were named Top 10 English Language teachers. Both Martin and Williams say they are humbled.

"It's such an honor to get this award and to know that these students are everything I believed them to be all along," said Martin.

Williams adds, "This really just shows that it's a strong program here at Huntsville High School."

"I'm tremendously honored to be part of that and work with a fantastic group of people and teach the best students in the world," said Williams.

Congratulations to these deserving educators from WHNT News 19.
