UPDATE: Body Found In Abandoned Car Identified

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Tenn. (WHNT) – Members of the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office in Tennessee are working a homicide investigation.

Sheriff Tim Fuller told WHNT NEWS 19 hunters saw a body inside a parked sport utility vehicle Monday morning.

Investigators say the body is that of 23-year old Kayla D. Qualls of Tullahoma. Her body was inside an abandoned Ford Explorer on Spring Creek Road around 11:00 am Monday.

Investigators say the cause of death appeared to be blunt force trauma to the head. 

The death is being investigated as a homicide, but officials say the homicide did not take place where the body was found.
