ARDMORE, Tenn. (WHNT) - Tennessee authorities arrested a man they say kidnapped a woman in Madison who was stranded.

Ardmore Police Chief David Whitt says Larry Hocken offered the woman a ride, but after Hocken turned onto the interstate, she asked to get out. Hocken refused.

The woman managed to use her cell phone to dial 911. Officers began to chase Hocken. When he slowed down to turn onto Tennessee 31, the victim jumped out of the car.

Hocken is charged with DUI, sexual battery, driving on a suspended license, reckless endangerment, and kidnapping.

He was booked in the Giles County Jail on a $34,000 bond.
