A Shoals family comes home to their house destroyed.  The family says vandals broke in and went through every room, and this isn’t the first time.

The family moved into the home on County Road 8 in the Cloverdale community, of Florence just a year ago.

Now they say, they are worried for their safety.

Tuesday, debris and trash were scattered across Randy and Doris Hill’s kitchen, but no room was left untouched.

“We`ve done nothing to deserve what we`re getting.  Nothing at all,” said the victim of the vandalism, Doris Hill.

The Hill`s bedroom was in complete disarray.  Clothes were strewn all over the floor. However, the family says nothing was taken besides prescription pills.

A hate message was left on the family’s floor, scribbled in ketchup and chocolate syrup from their own cabinets.

“Oh yeah, you feel violated.  You lay down to sleep at night, the dog barks, you jump up and look out, I mean us, it just works on your nerves,” said Randy Hill.

According to the Hills, vandals started their rampage on Labor Day and since then, the house has been the target of destruction nearly a dozen other times.

“I just wish I could find out why, I just don`t understand,” said Randy.

For the family who moved in just a year ago, it’s a homecoming they never imagined.

The Hill’s have a security system in their home but they say the vandals have been watching the house.  According to the Hill’s, the vandals hit the home just after 8:00 a.m. when their 16-year-old son left for a doctor’s appointment.

If you have any information about this crime you are asked to call the Shoals Area Crime Stoppers Tipline at 256-386-8685 or the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department.
