ATHENS, Ala. (WHNT) – It went so well last year, it’s back for a second year.  An Athens woman invites you to be part of a new Thanksgiving tradition.

Roxanne Haggermaker and members of her family will host a community Thanksgiving meal at the Vietnam Veterans of America building, at 17915 West Elm Street, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, November 22.

“Anybody and everybody who needs a Thanksgiving meal is welcome,” said Haggermaker.  “This is not just for the homeless, it’s for everybody.”

Last year, Haggermaker and friends served about 200 meals on-site and delivered 200 more to homes in Limestone County.

If you would like to help with the effort or donate food or money, or request a meal delivery please call Haggermaker at (256) 374-2073.
