Man Shot In Neighborhood Near Johnson High School

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) - Huntsville Police are investigating a shooting in the area of 6116 Colfax Road.  Johnson High School was placed on lockdown earlier in the day as a result of this.

The shooting happened about 11:15 a.m. just near the intersection of Colfax Road and Pueblo Drive.  Several police cars blocked the area.

The victim, Michael Corbin, 24, said he was in a car with someone, and that person shot Corbin in the right shoulder as he was getting out of the vehicle.

No one is in custody at this time.

Corbin was taken to Huntsville Hospital by ambulance.  Police say Corbin was not seriously hurt.

Johnson High School was immediately placed on lockdown after the shooting as a precaution.  The lockdown was lifted about 1 p.m.
