Appeals Court Denies Request for Hearing on Immigration Law

ATLANTA, GA (WHNT) – WHNT News 19 has confirmed that the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals has denied the State of Alabama’s request for a new hearing and oral arguments related to Alabama’s immigration law.  The bill often referred to as HB56,

The state requested a rehearing on two rulings issued in August.  The provisions Governor Robert Bentley asked the court to reconsider were dealing with harboring, contracts and school registration data.

Alabama now has the option of appealing to the United States Supreme Court.
