DECATUR, Ala (WHNT) – Two separate incidents have kept Decatur Police, Morgan County Sheriff’s Deputies and Alabama State Troopers busy this evening.

First, just after 7PM, Decatur Police were called to a disturbance on Kooken Ave SW. When they arrived, they discovered a man who had been stabbed in the abdomen. The victim has been taken to Decatur General West and at last report was still undergoing treatment. No word on his condition.

Meanwhile, also just after 7PM, Morgan County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to the scene of a shooting on Simmons Road. Upon arrival, they learned the victim had left the scene in a car being driven by someone else.

Moments later, Alabama State Troopers were called to a traffic accident on Norris Mill Road. They found a vehicle that had crashed, rolled over and ejected the passenger.

Turns out the passenger was also the shooting victim from the Simmons Road incident. He was rushed to Decatur General Hospital. No report on his condition. The driver of the car he was in was arrested by Troopers on a DUI charge. The Simmons Road shooting remains under investigation.
