MERIDIANVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) - Dozens of Huntsville-area parents who lost babies during their pregnancy or as infants came together for a memorial Saturday evening.

They wrote notes to their children and attached them to balloons before releasing them to the heavens.  More than 200 balloons flew into the sky.

The event was held at North Hills Presbyterian Church in Meridianville, and the organization NILMDTS coordinated the service.  The group, whose letters stand for "Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep," provides remembrance photography for parents who suffer the loss of a baby.

October is National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month.  This is the 25th year for the event.  The special Day of Loss Remembrance is Monday, October 15.
