FYFFE, Ala. (WHNT) - Tuesday a new police officer was on the job at the Fyffe Police Department.   This after the other two remaining officers, including the police chief, recently left.

Chief Jake Fowler turned in his resignation Monday.   Another officer left to go work for the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office.

Two other officers were fired over the summer by Mayor Katy Woodall.    While the new officer is getting up to speed, calls in Fyffe are being handled by the sheriff's office.

Mayor Woodall has plans to hire more officers in the near future.
