HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – If you missed the National Drug Take Back Initiative last month, you have another opportunity to get rid of old, unused medication.

Partnership for a Drug-Free Community will hold three events in Madison County on Saturday, October 13 to collect this medication, and properly dispose of it.  Come to these three locations from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

  • Jaycees Building, 2180 Airport Rd, Huntsville, AL 35802
  • Madison County – Flint River Baptist Church, 12945 HWY 231 N. Hazel Green, AL 35750
  • Madison – Madison Police Dept, 100 Hughes Rd, Madison, AL 35753

The event is a collaboration of The Partnership for a Drug-Free Community, the City of Huntsville, Huntsville Police, Madison Police, Madison County Sheriff’s Office, Operation Green Team, the Solid Waste Disposal Authority (SWDA), Covanta Huntsville and XMed.

National statistics show teenage prescription drug abuse is rapidly increasing, and your family medicine cabinet could become a teenager’s best supplier.

The program is completely confidential.  When you turn in your old medications, no questions will be asked.  Please remove or black out all labels before arriving.
