DOUGLAS, Ala. (WHNT) – An assistant coach for the Douglas High School football team has been placed on administrative leave.

Paul Pankey was placed on leave Friday.  Marshall County Superintendent Tim Nabors said he could not give the reason at this time.

Superintendent Nabors said Pankey has until October 6 to request a hearing before the school board.  He has not done so at this time.  If he does, the school board must schedule a hearing within 60 days.

Pankey teaches 10th grade English at Douglas High School.
