Mason Named SWAC Player Of The Week; Wilson honored

Normal, Ala. – Seniors Deaunte Mason and Chance Wilson were recognized for their performances versus Texas Southern University.

Mason was responsible for 231 yards on 17 of 24 passing with two touchdowns and three rushing touchdowns on 11 carries for 24 yards. Mason was named the Southwestern Athletic Conference offensive player of the week, the SWAC player of the week by College Sports  and he was given honorable mention recognition by the College Football Performance Awards (CFPA).

Currently Mason ranks first in the conference in passing efficiency with 156.23 passing percentage and scoring with a 9.0 average.

Punter Chance Wilson only punted three times versus TSU but they totaled 120 yards averaging 40 yards per punt with one landing inside the 20. The honorable mention nod by the CFPA was Wilson’s first weekly recognition.
