Auburn, Ala. – The Auburn Tigers completed a spirited practice on Thursday evening in helmets and shoulder pads inside the indoor practice facility as the team puts the final touches on preparations for Saturday night’s season opener with No. 14 Clemson in Atlanta’s Georgia Dome in the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game.

Overcast skies and a light rain pushed the team indoors for most of the nearly two-hour session.

Auburn head coach Gene Chizik is looking forward to seeing his team perform against a highly-ranked Clemson group very early in the season.

“This year, it will be interesting,” Chizik said.  “I’m really looking forward to it. The next week we have to play a tough SEC West game, so I think this is going to be a great indicator for us of just where we stand. Whether that dictates how the rest of your season unfolds or not, you don’t know that until December. The last two years, if history has anything to say in it, then it might.”

Auburn will go through a light walkthrough on Friday before heading to Atlanta.
