Tuscumbia Police and the Alabama Bureau of Investigation are asking for the public's help to find the person who broke through the door of Davis' home on High Street and beat him.  They believe the crime happened Tuesday between 12:30 and 7 p.m.

Someone found Davis unconscious around 7 p.m. and called 911.  Davis was flown to Huntsville Hospital for treatment.

Police say no one was with Davis at the time of the attack. His home is near Deshler Middle School.  Police aren't sure if the criminal took anything from the home.

Investigators spent several hours on High Street last night gathering evidence, and they were back at the scene today.  They canvassed the area to talk with neighbors to see if anyone saw anything suspicious.
