Juvenile Arrested After Vehicle Accident on Oakwood Avenue

Huntsville, AL (WHNT) — Huntsville Police responded to a 3-vehicle accident on Saturday evening.

Police say a 16-year-old was driving a stolen SUV, accompanied by three other young passengers. Officials say the SUV was headed the wrong way down Oakwood Avenue when it struck a car at Jordan lane, causing that car to be rear-ended by another vehicle.

The 16-year-old driver of the SUV fled from the scene of the accident. One passenger in the SUV suffered life-threatening injuries, while the other two passengers are expected to be okay along with the drivers of the other vehicles.

The 16-year-old drive that fled from the scene went to Huntsville Hospital for treatment and was later arrested by Huntsville Police. The juvenile was charged with Felony Attempting to Flee and Elude, two counts of felony assault, Felony Leaving the Scene of An Accident and Felony Receiving Stolen Property.  The juvenile was arrested upon release from the hospital.
