ATHENS, Ala. (WHNT) – A Madison Police officer bonded out of the Limestone County Jail on Tuesday.  He is charged with first-degree sexual abuse.

William Watson was released from Huntsville Hospital late Tuesday morning. Limestone County Sheriff’s deputies escorted him from the hospital and took him to jail.

Watson posted bond shortly afterward.

Watson is on administrative leave from his job as a Madison police officer.  He has worked with the department for 13 years.

Captain Stanley McNatt with the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office said the victim in the case is a juvenile female.  He said there could be more victims, and more charges could come after the grand jury reviews the case.

McNatt did not go into more specifics.
