Longtime Ardmore Police Chief “Doc” Oliver Dies

ARDMORE, Ala. (WHNT) – A man who served as Ardmore’s Chief of Police for more than three decades has died.

William “Doc” Oliver, 75, died on Monday at Athens-Limestone Hospital. 

Oliver’s family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 22 from 2 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 8 a.m. to 8 pm. at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home.  Different family members will be present throughout the day to receive visitors.  Law enforcement officers from several states are expected to come to pay their respects.

Funeral services will be Friday, August at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.  Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Pulaski.

Oliver was a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to the church’s building fund.
